Monthly Wellness Circles

You're Not Imagining It. The Struggle is Real.

Teaching is already one of the most demanding professions. But as Black women and women of color educators, we carry additional burdens that can feel overwhelming and isolating. The statistics paint a sobering picture: K-12 teachers are the #1 most burnt-out profession, with 44% reporting frequent burnout and 86% saying their job adversely impacts their mental health.

For us, those challenges are compounded by microaggressions, overlooked contributions, and "intersectional invisibility" (being overlooked as a result of being both Black and a woman) in school environments. With Black women educators facing a 22% turnover rate compared to 15-19% for white peers, it's clear that traditional wellness programs aren't addressing our unique experiences.

You deserve better. You deserve Gather. You deserve b.well.
